Shopify is an e-commerce platform from Ottawa, Canada. It is one of the popular ecommerce platforms for businesses to sell their products.

Top 5 SEO limitations of Shopify

The market is full of competition. The more effort you put, the better response you’ll get. Here are the top five limitations that would make you double-check about your decisions!

No WordPress

Are you interested in content marketing? You may always be the center of attention than renting. It would be best if you learned the natural connection of understanding that the growing brand flourishes.

However, Shopify, as an e-commerce platform, is not a platform for content marketing. Shopify’s default blog engine has hundreds of subtle issues and limitations.

So, to solve the problem, install WordPress.

Again, there is no option to install anything in a subfolder of Shopify. Therefore, you need to host it somewhere else and specify a subdomain like content.yoursite.com, etc.

SEO means that content shares the same subdomain work closely, but Shopify cannot.

Canonical URLs

One common issue that people face is Google spats all the files that have similar content. To solve the problem, Shopify uses the rel=”canonical HTML tag.

They are misusing a code to do something which is not programming the tag. For example, when searching for a site: theirdomain.com is one of our Shopify clients, the following URLs were all served to Google.

Based on Google’s information, the rel=”canonical” tag is a suggestion.

From our experience, it’s that they won’t follow every once in a while. If you try to apply the patch using the Shopify redirect tool, you will find that this is not working, and you cannot redirect the page technically.

Though people recommend the rel=”canonical” tag, it’s unreliable in this situation. It serves an entirely different role than any other post at any additional time.

JavaScript redirects are also inconsistent in this case. Such issues are in-use .htaccess or host files. term. In many cases, people can’t access them from Shopify.

Breadcrumb URLs

An issue is that Shopify generates breadcrumb URLs for products in categories. Worst Case Like Problem #1 cannot be resolved without more access than Shopify offers.

People have two copies of the same page in Google’s index:

 /collections/collectiontitle/products/productname

/products/productname

However, a Google search often leads to repeating this suggestion being wrong. There are no advantages to create too many competing URLs for the same content. Every self-hosted platform We’ve come across avoids it altogether.

No Plusses or Spaces

A file called robots.txt signals Google how to index your site. Shopify can’t be touched. The contents are as follows.
